Jan Navatkoski is a senior finance leader currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Food Bank For New York City. She previously worked at Feeding South Florida, the largest Food Bank in Florida, as the Vice President of Finance and Administration where she turnaround the company's financial operations. Doris Neyra is a Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor for the Miami region of Wells Fargo Private Bank. She joined Wachovia Wealth Management in February 2006, which today is Wells Fargo Private Bank. Naomi Nixon currently serves as Associate Vice President for Central Development at the University of Miami. In this capacity, she is responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategy for the University’s Momemtum2 campaign, with a fundraising goal of $1.6 billion. Throughout her career, Ms. Nixon has held leadership positions in numerous organizations. She is Co-Founder and President of Women in International Trade and is a board member of UM Hillel. Kendra Phillips is Group Director of Dedicated Transportation Solutions (DTS) for Ryder System, Inc., a Fortune 500 commercial fleet management and supply chain solutions company. She is responsible for three key areas within DTS’s growth: (1) successful value creation from and implementation of a new operating system, (2) significant operating change through the centralization of activities from four hundred locations throughout the U.S. to three locations and (3) strategic sales approach to new business. Kendra’s passion is around strategic development and execution for growth. She began her 9 year career with Ryder in the Corporate Strategy group and worked her way up to lead strategic development for the Supply Chain Solutions division of Ryder. After her time in Strategy, Kendra took over running the Sales Solutions team and during this period Supply Chain Solutions Sales had their two most successful years on record.
Toni Randolph was founder of RANOR, Inc., a private label manufacturer and brand management company. Her customers included major retailers, Wal-Mart, K-Mart JC Penny and Petrie Stores.
Barry University President Sister Linda Bevilacqua, OP, PhD, named Sue Rosenthal, former vice president of finance for the Miami Herald Media Co., as the university’s vice president for business and finance. Rosenthal began her new role on March 10, 2014. In her new role, Rosenthal will provide strategic financial leadership and direct all aspects of the university’s finance, accounting, and facilities departments. She will be a part of the university’s executive team tasked with setting institutional goals and formulating institutional policy. Rosenthal is no stranger to Barry University, having served as a member of the board of trustees from 2006 to 2010, including chairing the Finance and Facilities Committee from 2009 to 2010. “We are pleased and fortunate to have Sue join our University community” President Bevilacqua said. “In addition to her familiarity with Barry, respect for our values, and personal integrity, Sue will serve the University’s strategic goals effectively by sharing her extensive financial expertise and financial planning skills that were honed and successfully executed in her tenure at the Miami Herald.” A native of Solon, Ohio, Rosenthal has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial planning and accounting sector. With the Herald Media Co. since 2002, Rosenthal managed all financial aspects including forecasting, credit and collections, billing and rating for advertising and circulation, payroll, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and month-end reporting. Her cost-saving techniques resulted in more than $125 million in expense savings since 2009. Most recently, Rosenthal managed all financial planning for the Miami Herald’s $50 million move to Doral. Prior to her experience with the Miami Herald Media Co., Rosenthal served as senior director of business development with Commerce One, director of financial planning with Viacom, and senior financial analyst of business development and capital planning with the General Motors Treasures Office. “I'm thrilled and honored to be joining the Barry community,” Rosenthal said. “I've always been impressed by the work Barry has done and couldn't be happier to be contributing to its future success.” Rosenthal has been involved in volunteer work for more than a decade. She is the current president of the board for Miami Herald Charities and a member of the Miami Children’s Museum board of directors. In recent years, she has served on the North Beach Elementary Educational Excellence School Advisory Council and the Temple Beth Shalom School Committee. Rosenthal received her B.S. in business from Miami University (Ohio) in 1991 and her MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business in 1996. A mother of two, Rosenthal and her husband, Steve, have been married for 12 years.
