Maria Del Busto is the Global Chief Human Resources Officer for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., a global vacation cruise company operating 37 ships under the following brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara Cruises, Royal Celebrity Tour Company, Pullmantur, SA and CDF Croisières de France. Del Busto leads the Company’s Global Human Resources functions serving over 45,000 employees worldwide; Shoreside Facilities and Global Community Relations functions.
Del Busto has held leadership roles in her field for more than 25 years, most recently, as vice president of Corporate Human Resources at Royal Caribbean, a job she held from 2000 until she was promoted into her existing role in October 2006. Under her leadership, she is responsible for all facilities, chairs the Global Community Relations Council and manages that function. Under the Human Resources function, she is responsible for global compensation, benefits, recognition, recruiting (from over 102 different countries), employee relations, HR systems, leadership & skills development and union negotiations.
Previously, Del Busto served as senior vice president, Corporate & Field Human Resource Services, for Fortis Health. Earlier, she worked for other big employers such as the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Miami Branch; The Hitchcock Clinic in Hanover New Hampshire, and other service organizations.
Del Busto obtained an associate in arts degree in Business Administration from Miami Dade College and Bachelors of Art degree in Business Administration, Professional Management and Human Resources from Nova University. She has received numerous professional recognition awards for her leadership, including the 2008 South Florida Business Journal Excellence in Human Resources Award; International Who’s Who of Professionals and the 2007 South Florida Good to Great Award for an employer with 1,000+ employees.
Del Busto services in various non-profit organizational boards including: Suited for Success; United Way of Dade County and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. She is presently very active with Florida International University serving as member on the Dean’s Council and the Executive MBA Council.
