Karla Fraguada has over 15 years of experience as a corporate executive in various positions at international organizations with focus on Product Development, Continuous Improvement and Strategy. She currently serves as Director of Business Performance at Bacardi North America in Miami, Florida where she handles special projects, regional strategic initiatives and organizational excellence programs. She also leads Programming and Training for Bacardi’s Women in Leadership and serves as women’s mentor.
Karla holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. She started her career at Kraft Foods in New York and spent 2 years in Mexico City with the company. Later she held positions at Pepperidge Farm and Unilever. In 2012, she earned a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma methodology and she also holds a US patent.
Recently, Karla joined Pipeline Angels as a member and angel investor. Pipeline Angels is changing the face of angel investing by creating capital for women social entrepreneurs. Additionally, she is actively involved in Miami’s Innovation Working Group led by the Miami-Dade Beacon Council encouraging collaboration and fostering Miami’s innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
On the personal side, Karla lives with her husband in Miami. They enjoy CrossFit, new restaurants and traveling (a lot!) She is involved with Habitat for Humanity Global Village having completed builds for women homeowners in Haiti, India, Guyana and Nicaragua. She is extremely interested in women causes, growth and advancement, social entrepreneurship, and making an impact in today’s challenging environment.
