Emily Green is a tech sector executive and thought leader, leading innovation in technology services for over 25 years. Currently, she is an independent Director on the Board of Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (NASD: CWST), a $500M regional waste services firm and a member of the Russell 2000 small cap index, where she serves on both the Compensation and Nomination & Governance Committees. For the Lee Kennedy Company, a family-owned regional construction firm, she serves as an independent director. She also coaches several C-level leaders and advises technology startups.
Her extensive leadership experience includes a stint as the CEO of Smart Lunches, Inc., a fast-growing online ordering and delivery service for school lunches, for which she raised venture funding, built an award-winning technology platform, and scaled operations to 300 schools in 9 states. Previously, she was the CEO, and later Chairman, of Yankee Group, a storied technology research firm that she teamed with private equity investors to acquire. Prior to joining Yankee Group, she had been the CEO of Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), driving a return to growth and an acquisition by IHS (NYSE: IHS).
Previously, she served with Forrester Research (NASD: FORR), building subscription research services, scaling international operations and acquiring several competitors. Earlier in her career, she worked in fiber-optic telecommunications and in computer-generated special effects.
Emily was granted a B.S.L. cum laude in linguistics from Georgetown University and an M.S.E. in artificial intelligence and computer graphics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Moore School of Engineering. ANYWHERE, her book on the business impact of global connectivity, was published in 2010 by McGraw-Hill; she was named a Mass High-Tech All-Star in 2011. She speaks publicly on the impact of technology on business and consumers, on best practices in international expansion, and on women and leadership.
